Waterjet Cutting
Waterjet cutting uses a high-pressure stream (3000 bar) of water to cut through soft Cellular like product. The cut edges are kept straight opposed to a press where concave edges can be created. Cad drawing files can be created in house to cut your parts. In some instances we can cut simple 3d parts.
Advantages include:
Precision
Waterjet cutting offers high precision, allowing for intricate shapes and designs.
Minimal Material Waste
Waterjet cutting generates very little waste because the stream is so narrow.
Foam Block Splitters
Splitters, also known as rubber splitting machines, use sharp blades to split Cellular Blocks or rolls into thinner sheets.
Advantages include:
We can take the standard Getzner 25mm thick sheets and convert to any thickness needed.
Slitting Machine
Slitters are machines equipped with circular blades that cut cellular materials, typically in roll form, into narrower strips or sheets. They are commonly used for converting wide rolls into usable widths.
Strips of material can be produced up to 5 metres long.
Rolls / Sheets
Standard Getzner material is offered at 1.5m wide x 5m long.
Standard thickness is 25mm or 12.5mm
If a thickness greater than 50mm is required Getzner can bond material together using a special adhesive.

Why use vibration protection polyurethane
Using vibration protection solutions is crucial to mitigate the negative effects of vibrations and noise on both human health and the environment. By addressing these issues, companies like Getzner make a significant contribution to improving overall quality of life and sustainability in various industries.
Vibrations can cause damage to infrastructure and equipment. In the railway and construction sectors, for example, they can lead to structural wear and tear, potentially compromising safety and longevity.
Excessive vibrations and noise can have detrimental effects on people’s health and well-being. Prolonged exposure to vibrations and loud noise levels can lead to stress, sleep disturbances, and various health issues, including hearing loss and cardiovascular problems.
Noise pollution is a significant contributor to environmental degradation. It can disrupt ecosystems, impact wildlife, and reduce overall quality of life in urban and industrial areas.
By effectively isolating vibrations, technology and machinery become more efficient and sustainable. Reducing vibrations in industrial equipment, for instance, can improve their performance, reduce maintenance costs, and extend their lifespan.
In urban environments, where noise pollution is prevalent, vibration protection measures can significantly enhance the quality of life for residents. Quieter living spaces and work environments contribute to better mental and physical health.
Typical uses for Getzner Anti Vibration, Acoustic Dampening Polyurethane
Conveyor rollers
The properties of materials from Getzner make them ideal for use in the transportation of a variety of different goods. From office products to foodstuffs – thanks to the coated conveyor rollers with Sylomer® surfacing or rings, everything reaches its destination safely.
Elastic Components
Vibration suppression plays a major role in machine and vehicle construction: by elastically decoupling highly stressed dynamic metal parts, the design engineer can significantly reduce structure-borne noise. Thus, for example, the cabs of tractors are mounted on damping elements made from Sylodyn®. But arguments such as greater comfort, reduced wear and a longer service life are not just important in the automotive sector.
Sylomer® Compressor Grommet CGR
Classic machine mounting made from Sylomer® for the bearing of compressors in heat pumps, water boilers and a range of household devices.
Protectors
Getzner materials are also used as protectors in sports textiles and orthopaedic underwear. In medical technology, the protectors made from Sylomer® cushion the hip bones, preventing fractures to the neck of the femur and other injuries. In sports textiles, the protectors cushion impacts and absorb energy in the event of an external force. Moreover, the protectors from Getzner are particularly kind to skin and easy to clean.
Elastic compensation layer for polishing tools
Sylomer® pads from Getzner are frequently used in the optical industry for polishing plastic spectacle lenses. They enable fast and efficient processing of extremely sensitive plastic materials. The main advantage of the polishing pads lies in their recovery. In addition, Getzner offers a wide range of shapes. As less material is used, considerable cost savings can be made.
Sylodyn® bearing strips
Convenient strips in varying width and thickness.
Gasket
Sylodyn® provides a unique combination of materials for sealing. It is a closed-cell elastomer which is extremely leak-tight without excessive pre-tensioning. This allows the thickness of the seal to be reduced and the cost-effectiveness to be increased. This also has a positive effect on the service life of the seal.
Sylomer® Point Bearing PBE
The universally applicable material pads made from Sylomer® are suitable for a broad range of applications – a handy little tool for any tradesperson.
Sylodyn® Washers
As part of the overall sound control solution, the screw connection is one of the most important fasteners.
Here too, the avoidance of sound bridges requires clean implementation and the use of elastically decoupled washers.
Floating floors for ships
From Getzner are IMO/SOLAS certified and increase comfort levels on board ships and yachts. The Getzner Box-in-Box system significantly reduces vibrations, and consequently secondary airborne noise. Floors and walls are lined and decoupled from their environment with Sylomer® Marine strips.
This method enables noise and vibration-sensitive areas such as cabins, the wheelhouse or power distribution units to be protected, and significantly increases comfort levels and service life in these areas. Sources of disturbance such as engine compartments, air-handling units, heliports, entertainment areas or swimming pools can also be elastically decoupled by applying this principle: the transmission of vibrations to the structure is prevented while the lifecycle of the machinery itself is significantly prolonged.
Bearing of HVAC units
Modern buildings are becoming increasingly complex in terms of their construction and fittings, making them ever more sensitive to vibrations. They amplify and transmit structure-borne noise from the facilities installed inside.
Thanks to their long-lasting, stable properties, Sylomer®, Sylodyn® and Isotop spring isolators are perfect solutions for reducing vibrations caused by HVAC equipment.
Mounting of machinery and technical building systems
Vibrations and disturbing noises are also caused by mechanical equipment and other technical building systems.
Sound insulation with bearings made from Sylomer®. Sylodyn® and Isotop decouples noises in the location where the vibrations are generated. With an elastic bearing, items of equipment are acoustically decoupled from the structure and vibrations and noise are reduced. As a result, fewer noise emissions are transferred to pipes and ducts that are routed through walls and ceilings.
Machine bearings
Machines generate vibrations that are transmitted to the environment unless appropriate decoupling measures are put in place. Such vibrations have a negative impact on the direct surroundings, production and quality processes and adjacent neighbourhoods. Elastic machine bearings from Getzner reduce vibrations and structure-borne noise to a minimum.
Subject to requirements, the bearing is either on Sylomer®, Sylodyn® or Isotop spring isolators. With excellent results guaranteed.
Decoupling of electronic elements
Instruments such as microscopes, cameras, control panels, displays, etc., are exposed to disruptive influences such as shocks and unwanted vibrations and need to be protected. The perfect solution is to make use of the unique polyurethane materials Sylomer® and Sylodyn® from Getzner Werkstoffe. By using elastic decoupling on or in these sensitive instruments, functionality can be guaranteed and the service life of the products can be significantly increased.
Depending on the type, the materials offer protection against continuous vibrations (at small amplitudes), or against single or repeated shocks and impacts (at high amplitudes). Variable material properties, such as those of a spring, a damper or a combination of spring and damper, considerably lengthen the service life of instruments if professionally calculated and implemented.
Thanks to the long-lasting, stable elastic properties of the materials coupled with effective vibration isolation, the sensitive electronic equipment is guaranteed to function without disruption.
MRT bearings
Vibrations in hospitals are particularly undesirable. At the same time, there are many sources of vibrations there. Air-handling units, tomographs and x-ray machines, for example, generate high levels of vibrations across various frequencies. These can be transmitted to other devices or have adverse effects on medical treatments and patients. Appropriate vibration suppression is therefore essential.
Sylomer® and Sylodyn® have a high static load capacity and good load-distribution properties, making the materials very well suited to use as mounts for magnetic resonance tomographs. This has been proven for many years now.
Getzner is therefore making a contribution to health and the creation of a patient-friendly environment in the facilities where the materials are used.
Pump bearings
Whether a pump is conveying gaseous or liquid media is irrelevant – they all share a common feature: pumps generate vibrations and hence secondary airborne noise.
An effective way of isolating these vibrations is to elastically decouple the pump. Suitable elastic bearings are chosen in keeping with the medium, pressure, conveyed distance and design (e.g. foundation bearing) of the pump.
For decades, the mounting with Isotop spring elements and a Sylomer® bearing has proved successful for every requirement.
